Bar Le Mailhac celebrates its first anniversary , while Le Coq du Nord-Mailhac celebrates its third anniversary !

To mark this event, Le Bar Le Mailhac and Le Coq du Nord-Mailhac invite you to their first joint event: "J'ceux... pas j'ai gourmandise", on Sunday June 2 from 12 p.m. at Bar Le Mailhac .

On the program : a cocktail offered by "Le Bar Le Mailhac", followed by a meal at the Braséro Plancha of "Le Coq du Nord-Mailhac." Savor a delicious fillet of guinea fowl from GAEC d'Empare, accompanied by a salad and hash browns with thyme and rosemary , all from the "Coq du Nord-Mailhac" vegetable garden. For dessert, enjoy flambéed seasonal fruits accompanied by a scoop of organic ice cream from Jardin des Glaces. To accompany this meal, treat yourself to a small glass of wine, a refreshing beer or a soft drink from Bar Le Mailhac.

A story of wine…

Throughout the weekend from June 14 to 16, 2024 , we invite you to discover wine through various activities: winegrower's walk , meal but also a workshop which will allow you to awaken your senses to understand wine differently .

Program:

Friday: we suggest you start with a wine tour with Domaine La Tasque followed by a tasting among the vines in a historic setting.

Then, head to Domaine Les Tuileries which celebrates music by presenting their wine. Restoration of an Occitan school.

Saturday: wine workshop at Domaine Les Tuileries. Discovery of aromas, grape varieties, awakening of the senses…

In the evening, blind tasting of Cyril Codina 's vinegars and table d'hôtes with these products.

Today, we are taking you to discover the Picturesque Charms of the Canal du Midi : Walking, cycling or boat trips. By proximity, we will leave from Le Somail.

The UNESCO World Heritage-listed Canal du Midi offers an enchanting escape along its peaceful banks, and Le Somail , nestled in the heart of this marvelous waterway, is no exception. Here is an overview of the walks, bike rides or boat trips to explore around this charming village.

Le Somail, located 7 km from us, will seduce you with its authentic ambiance and warm atmosphere . With its stone houses and barges moored along the quays, the village invites you to relax and explore.

Set out on foot along the banks and take the towpaths along the canal for a leisurely stroll. Enjoy views of the sparkling water and admire the historic locks . Also take the opportunity to explore the village by strolling through the narrow streets and discover the local craft shops, art galleries and picturesque cafes. Don't miss the famous old bookstore.

Likewise, why not board the La Capitane cruise ship to discover the locks. See how these feats of engineering work and soak up the history of the canal.

As a reminder, this weekend's program...

Friday evening, we will start the weekend with a blind tasting of some vinegars from Cyril Codina . Then, we offer you our table d'hôtes highlighting these associated with local products . We hope that this first discovery will make you want to go to the vinegar factory located in Lagrasse for a complete guided tour . Our guests will have the privilege of benefiting from this experience free of charge. We would also like to warmly thank Cyril Codina for his generosity.

On Saturday, after a good breakfast, we will meet you at Mas d'Antonin , a family estate, for a morning at the heart of our traditions. On the program, a walk through the olive trees and truffle groves. Clémence will give you a digging demonstration. You will also have the opportunity to learn about olive oil tasting . The morning will end with sharing a plate of toast, olives, olive pâté, truffles, olive oil, country ham, figs and fresh goat's cheese. (Activity price: €20).

To end this day in style, we offer you a table d'hôtes featuring summer truffles.

Anne and François will have the pleasure of introducing you to their wines during these two days. On Sundays , also take advantage of the organization of their local market . For the occasion, we suggest we go there togetherto stock up on provisions from local producers and share a picnic while tasting the Domaine's wines. On Monday , the market will be replaced by an exhibition of vintage cars.

On Monday, Juliet and Simon from Domaine La Tasque , also an independent winemaker in Mailhac , offer you a stroll through their vines located in an enchanting setting . After this, Juliet and Simon will make you taste their wine during the picnic that you have brought. As announced this Thursday, we continue to invite you to come and discover our terroir .

This Sunday, we present to you our gourmet stay which will take place from May 24 to 26, 2024.

Here is the program for this weekend...

Friday evening, we will start the weekend with a blind tasting of some vinegars from Cyril Codina . Then, we offer you our table d'hôtes highlighting these associated with local products . We hope that this first discovery will make you want to go to the vinegar factory located in Lagrasse for a complete guided tour . Our guests will have the privilege of benefiting from this experience free of charge. We would also like to warmly thank Cyril Codina for his generosity.

On Saturday, after a good breakfast, we will meet you at Mas d'Antonin , a family estate, for a morning at the heart of our traditions. On the program, a walk through the olive trees and truffle groves. Clémence will give you a digging demonstration. You will also have the opportunity to learn about olive oil tasting . The morning will end with sharing a plate of toast, olives, olive pâté, truffles, olive oil, country ham, figs and fresh goat's cheese. (Activity price: €20).

To end this day in style, we offer you a table d'hôtes featuring summer truffles.

This week we went to Gruissan , one of our favorites in Aude. Stroll through the village, stroll around the port, discover the salt marshes and stroll through nature. We really enjoyed walking among the ponds to admire the still preserved nature. In addition, with some luck you will admire magnificent pink flamingos.

This Sunday morning, we are taking you to Mailhac, our village which is located in Aude where the Courge Festival will take place on November 5, 2023, organized by the associations Les Amis des Livres and Les Vignerons Mailhacois.

Hello everyone,

This evening we take you to La Réserve Africaine de Sigean , a zoological park located not far from Narbonne .

It is important for us to discover the region and its tourist attractions to offer them to our guests.

Regarding this zoo, we were pleasantly surprised by the space reserved for the animals. Indeed, you find several thousand animals on more than 350 hectares.

The park is divided into two parts :

The first you cross by car. You can observe bears, lions, ostriches... all within vast plains.

The second is done on foot . You stroll through the landscapes of Languedoc Roussillon while observing the different animals.

We also really appreciated the various well-designed picnic areas . Anyone who wants to eat is also possible.

Another very pleasant point is the kindness of the staff .

This week we are lucky to have all our guest rooms occupied by long stays and the icing on the cake of EXTRAORDINARY guests. Respect for all is part of everyday life, which allows constructive exchanges and fabulous discoveries .

It's not always easy to find your way between gîte, bed and breakfast, hotel... Especially since today Booking also accepts private individuals, airbnb professionals...

Many customers regularly ask us about the differences between lodging , bed and breakfast , airbnb …. In addition, recently, we have noticed an increase in foreign customers who are convinced that an establishment is automatically a hotel because lodgings and bed and breakfasts hardly exist in their country.

We therefore offer you a brief summary …

Bed and Breakfast: You stay with the locals, in a room with private or shared bathroom . In bed and breakfast, the price of the night always includes sleeping accommodation and breakfast . Sometimes, other services are offered such as the table d'hôtes. As far as we are concerned, all our rooms have a private bathroom, the breakfast is local and homemade . In terms of services, we offer our table d'hôtes where all our guests eat together. We also share the meal with them. The philosophy of the table d'hôtes is thus preserved! The atmosphere is family and friendly . The meal is entirely homemade with local products and the vegetables come from our vegetable garden . Our guests also have access to our swimming pool and parking free of charge. We also have an electric charging station for cars. Recharging is chargeable according to the power of the vehicle and the cost of energy at the time of recharging.

Legally, the capacity of a bed and breakfast is a maximum of 5 rooms and 15 people.

Cottage:You are staying in an accommodation with a private entrance. This includes at least a kitchenette, a bedroom and a bathroom. Our gite has an area of 80m2. It is composed of an equipped kitchen, a lounge area, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with WC and shower and a terrace with barbecue. Guests also have access to our swimming pool and parking free of charge. it is with pleasure that we announce the re-opening of the coffee of Mailhac. Pascal and Valérie invite you to their inauguration this Saturday, June 17 from 6:30 p.m.

For the record, Valérie and Pascal arrived a few months ago in our guest rooms ""Le Coq du Nord-Mailhac"" to change their lives. Originally from Nice, they were looking for a quieter place to live… And they fell in love with this small village of Mailhac . Circumstances meant that shortly after their arrival, the former manager of the café resigned and so this couple bounced back and applied.

Many of our guests adore Mailhac, with its history, its nature, its proximity to tourist places such as Narbonne, Carcasonne, the Canal du Midi, Le Somail, Béziers, Gruissan,... However, they often told us that they regretted that a small restoration is not possible on the village.

So still no restaurant in sight, however Valérie and Pascalwill offer breakfasts as well as paninis , plates of charcuterie and cheese … Good news for all those who want to eat a little something in all simplicity and conviviality . In addition, you can discover the wines of Mailhac .

We therefore wish a welcome to Valérie and Pascal as well as happiness in their new life project.

Our first ""Nature"" themed stay is over and we would like to thank our hosts and all of our partners who made this weekend a success .

Small recap…

We started this long weekend with a convivial table d'hôtes around a plancha brazier.

Thursday after a good breakfast, we went to the vegetable garden to discover the ways to cultivate with the wind and the drought . Then, we offered our guests a picnic around a tasting carried out by the Domaine La Tasque .

On Friday, we had the chance to discover the Naturo-culture association. Eric, took us on the trails of the region and to their vegetable garden in order to discover the edible wild plants . We continued with a meal around the plants pickedand garden vegetables . All accompanied by a tasting of La Prade Mari. In the evening, guests were able to enjoy a tasting of Château Landure . This was originally planned to accompany the Saturday picnic but in view of the weather forecasts, we have adapted the program.

Saturday, we took the direction of Les Roumanisses where Nicolas, producers of organic essential oils , made us discover the distillation of essential oils, the difference with a hydrosol and the virtues of plants. At noon, sharing a picnic .

Every evening, our guests were invited to share the table d'hôtes .

In summary , a weekend of discovery but above all of conviviality and sharing. Thank you all and thank you also to our hosts who did not share all the activities because they came to discover our superb region. And yes… Languedoc Roussillon is full of many riches.

Economic crisis, we remain united...

For 2023 , we have decided to maintain our 2022 rates despite the rise in electricity prices and our local producers. We will ask our guests to show solidarity by turning off lights and air conditioning when they are away.

For the gîte , we have analyzed the consumption of our customers in 2022 and established a fixed price included in the price of the stay, which allows us not to penalize all our guests for the excesses of some.

1. Vineyard walk:   Juliet and Simon invite you to discover their vineyards, to walk there and to   taste 4 wines while sharing small aperitif dishes. Then, return to the cellar for an explanation of vinification and aging.
   Duration: +/- 2h
   Price: 10€/ person. Free for children
   Condition:
   Minimum 6 people
   Free visit from 95€ of purchase.

2. Harvest: during the harvest, Juliet and Simon offer you a short tour of the cellar and a tasting of the wine in full vinification. Nature often reserves many surprises, so it is impossible to specify the moment of this activity. Often, at the end of August for the rosé wine and until the beginning of October for the reds.
